2024: The Heilbronn ecosystem is growing!

Hardly any other city is developing as rapidly as Heilbronn: with the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (Ipai), it is becoming the Mecca of the European AI scene. More and more German tech companies and innovative start-ups are moving to the city. And right in the middle of it all: 42 Heilbronn. We also have every reason to look forward to 2024: our ecosystem continues to grow - and is celebrating the opening of three new buildings!

42 Heilbronn: Co-working on open source projects

We are expanding! The “Open Space” - a unique co-working space - will open in fall 2024. The main hall of the former Weipertfabrik is open to anyone working on non-profit projects. The idea is to learn together, look over each other's shoulders and develop new projects - free of charge. The only condition is that the learning project does not pursue any private commercial interests. All work should either be freely available as open source software or be non-profit.
The Technical University of Munich and 42 Heilbronn will use the hall for public educational events. This is how learning works in 2024.

Ipai: hotspot for Europe's AI experts

In 2024, Heilbronn will take an important step towards becoming the largest AI center in Europe: Ipai will open its first dedicated building on 6,000 square meters in the Wohlgelegen Future Park. In future, the more than 25 members and partners will have the opportunity to drive forward new AI developments right next door to other companies. Major players such as Porsche, Fraunhofer IAO and Aleph Alpha have already agreed to move into the new offices. Ipai is also opening up further to the Heilbronn community: interested parties can meet AI experts in a new visitor center and experience the technology live and up close.

Campus Founders: meeting place for the start-up community

At the end of 2024, a new place for the startup scene will be created in the middle of the education campus: the startup & co-innovation hub Campus Founders will provide workspaces, co-creation areas and a Media MakerSpace on six floors. In future, young founders will meet like-minded people here, pitch innovations, share experiences and expertise and take their startup to the next level. The restaurant and Members' Lounge on the top floor with a view over the campus will be the meeting place for the scene.

With these new openings, plans and visions will find a physical location and become reality after a long period of planning - a great prospect for the Heilbronn ecosystem.
